We are a mixed animal practice in Cumbria, established in Aspatria for going on a century. We are passionate about animal care and our skilled veterinary team are dedicated to providing the highest quality care for your animals.
Alisia joined Beacon Veterinary Centre in a part-time role while she completes her training in veterinary nursing at Newton Rigg College, near Penrith. She goes to college two days a week during term and spends the other three days with us. Primarily the veterinary nurse trainee position is behind the scenes; they are often involved in the preparations and monitoring of anaesthetics and surgery, as well monitoring and treating hospital patients.
Nursing Assistant and Receptionist
Susan is one of Beacon Vets longest serving employees, having joined in 1993. In that time she has seen a large variety of vets with differing techniques and opinions. Susan works on reception from midday, but on Tuesday and Wednesday mornings she also cares for our patients at the small animal surgeries. Outside of work Susan and her husband run a suckler herd locally, having recently stopped milking dairy cows. As such she has good contacts with the local farming community she enjoys working with them.
